It is planned to create an Uzbek-Iranian joint venture
The Navoi branch of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan was visited by representatives of the Kimya Gostaran Sepehr company of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
On February 14, 2022, a delegation from Iran, headed by Managing Director A.Rajabi, visited the research laboratory of the Navoi branch and got acquainted with the research being carried out here. During a conversation with researchers and doctoral students of the department, the guests said that their company is engaged in the production of various chemical reagents and mixtures for the needs of the national economy and is a leading enterprise in its region. They also announced their intention to make investments and build a similar chemical plant in the Navoi region and expressed their interest in cooperation with scientists for the scientific support of the project.
The very next day, their wish formed the basis of a memorandum of cooperation between the Kimya Gostaran Sepehr company and the Navoi branch of the Academy of Sciences, which was signed by the parties in a friendly atmosphere.
The negotiators also discussed the possibility of creating an Uzbek-Iranian joint venture, one of the participants of which will be the Navoi branch. This is a joint venture and will undertake the obligations of the construction of the plant.
To date, negotiations are ongoing with various authorities in order to translate the plan into reality. In particular, together with the employees of the branch, Iranian investors visited the khokimiyat of the Navoi region, the Navoi FEZ and Navoiyazot JSC, where they discussed plans for cooperation.
